Player Profile: Brandon HagyWestlake Village native Brandon Hagy turned pro in 2014, the same year he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Without any major PGA Tour victories under his belt yet, Brandon is still one of the best drivers in America. Brandon’s driving distance is ranked fifth with an average distance of 313.3 yards and a club head speed ranked second.

Born on March 21, 1991, this 2009 Westlake High School graduate played quarterback until his love for golf took over. It wasn’t until he went to Berkeley to get a business degree that he fully realized his talent for the game.

Brandon’s favorite golfing memory is a 40-foot putt during the 2012 Pac-12 Championship. Sinking the ball gave him a birdie and his team a shot at the conference playoffs. Brandon went on to lead the UC Berkeley golf team to the Pac-12 men’s golf championship. The first ever for both Brandon and the university. Not to be outdone, Hagy would help his university win again the following year while continuing to collect awards through his senior year.

Brandon Hagy isn’t all golf though. Ever since college, Brandon has been involved in helping out the Special Olympics and Planet Hope, a foundation that helps underprivileged children and children in need throughout the Los Angeles area. When he isn’t golfing, Brandon likes to head up into the mountains of California to fish for trout. His favorite way to start the day? Wake up to a big breakfast, a cup of coffee, and the Wall Street Journal.

Whether he continues his PGA career or decides to join a private equity firm in the future, Brandon Hagy’s future is looking bright and we’re proud to call him one of our own Westlake Golfers.
