Are you looking for a fun and patriotic activity on the morning of July 4th? Residents of all ages are invited to participate in the 48th Annual Westlake Village 4th of July Parade. A full morning of activities is planned starting at 8:00 am with a Boy Scout Troop #752 pancake breakfast. The parade movement begins at 9:45 am from the former Westlake Village hospital site (located at 4415 Lakeview Canyon Road) and follows a short 4-block route to Berniece Bennett Park located in the First Neighborhood of Westlake Village. Residents are also encouraged to line the parade route to cheer on participants as they stroll along. Veterans and members of the military are encouraged to participate and lead the parade.

Once the parade concludes at the park, residents will be treated to a dramatic U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony performed by Boy Scout Troop #485. After the ceremony, residents can enjoy free inflatable activities, old fashioned park games, face painting, crafts, and music. Free popsicles and water will be distributed and the Rotary Club of Westlake Village will be selling hot dogs for $2. The event ends at 12 noon.

The fun continues into the evening as the City will be hosting the fourth annual fireworks spectacular show in collaboration with the Westlake Village Golf Course and the Westlake Village Inn. The Golf Course Driving Range will be the central viewing location hosting Independence Day activities, entertainment, and food trucks beginning at 6:00 pm. Gates will open at 5:00 pm. Due to state regulations, no outside alcohol will be permitted inside the Golf Course Driving Range. However, alcohol will be available for purchase at the Golf Course Driving Range location only. In addition, Calvary Community Church will offer an event with food and entertainment with their gates opening at 6:00 pm.
As the fireworks will reach altitudes of 500 feet above the golf course, residents may want to consider hosting a barbeque or block party prior to enjoying the display. The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:10 pm and last for 18 minutes. For detailed information on either event including parking locations and entertainment schedules, please contact City Hall at 818-706-1613 or visit the City’s website at www.wlv.org by clicking on the “4th of July” icons on the right hand side. Additionally, the City extends its special thanks to this year’s fireworks sponsors, Calvary Community Church, Lee & Associates, and the law firm of Nevers, Palazzo, Packard, Wildermuth, & Wynner.
