The Top Ten Women Golfers in The WorldThe LPGA tour was founded in 1950 and each year the talent level grows. According to the these are the top ten ranked women golfers in the world as of April 4th: 

1. Lydia Ko

Lydia Ko is a Korean player from New Zealand. At 17 years old, Ko became the youngest player, male or female, to be ranked number one in professional golf. She has an impressive 14 LPGA tour wins under her belt and this year switched coaches to help her “take ownership” of her swing.

2.  So Yeon Ryu

So Yeon Ryu is a South Korean golfer with 16 professional wins under her belt. In 2011, she won the U.S. Women’s Open and has continued to consistently rank among the top players on the tour. She has been playing professionally since 2007.

3. Ariya Jutanugarn

Ariya Jutanugarn is quickly rising through the ranks of the LPGA. This year the top earner in women’s golf is looking to have a very promising season. From Bangkok, Thailand, Jutanugarn is the first Thai golfer to win a major championship.

4. Lexi Thompson

At age 12, Lexi Thompson was the youngest golfer to ever qualify to play in the U.S. Women’s open. Since then she has set a record as the youngest player to win an LPGA tournament at 16 years old in 2011. Currently Thompson holds the record for longest drive on the LPGA at a whopping 359 yards.

5. In Gee Chun

In Gee Chun is another South Korean. In 2015, she took home the Women’s Open Golf Championship and last year she won the Evian Championship with a score of 21 under par, the lowest score in a major tournament for women or men golfers in history. She’s also the first player to win three majors in a single year.

6. Shanshan Feng

Shanshan Feng is the first Chinese golfer to become a member of the LPGA tour, as well as the first player from mainland China to win a major tour championship. Last year she took the bronze at the Olympics in Rio. She has an impressive short game and seems to be able to sink the unsinkable put.

7. Inbee Park

In 2014, South Korean Inbee Park was ranked as the number one LPGA player in the world. She’s won seven major championships and three consecutive wins in 2013. In 2016, she won an Olympic Gold medal, the first since 1900 in the women’s individual tournament.

8. Ha-Na Jang

Yet another South Korean, Ha Na Jang led the money list in 2013 and has already earned eight professional wins.  She is the first LPGA golfer to have a hole-in-one on a par four.

9. Amy Yang

Amy Yang is also from South Korea. She has seven professional wins under her belt since 2011 and this year set a record at the Honda LPGA Tournament with a five-shot victory.

10. Anna Nordqvist

Hailing from Sweden, Anna Nordqvist rounds out our list of the best woman’s golfer in the world right now. She has ten professional wins under her belt since 2009 and is known for her impressive driving distance. Recently she has improved her short game and continues to be a dominate force on the tour.
